Your code on this page is correct and works in other browsers.
This must be a Safari bug.

Sorry -- I remembered this list being used quite a bit for HTML help
some years ago. Moving to an Intel Mac after 6 years on a G3 PowerBook
has upset my comfortable little world.
Thanks for the style update -- although when I use that, the next image
clears at all window sizes in Safari, but the text beside it still jumps
up beside the preceding image at certain sizes.
