In BBEdit 8.5, when I use [Command]-[Shift]-O, instead of

It is not, sorry. The browser is here to stay,

I will mourn the passing of the former behavior.

When I try to Save a Copy To FTP Server, it does not default to the
server/path of the currently opened file, which is opened via ftp.

I don't think that it ever did, but I may be misremembering. If you would like it to do so I can certainly look into making it so, however.

Well, one thing I often do, when choosing to edit from my production server, is save a copy of the file about to be edited; Save As... to the ftp server, close the new file just created and open the original again.

Hey, how about a Duplicate button in the ftp browser? Select a file, click duplicate and BBEdit could ask for the name to use for the copy, GET the file to be duplicated and then PUT that file using the new name. That'd be handy.
