An update to message below... BBEdit version is 8.7.2. Mac OS is 10.4.11.
Still need a solution.

Up until recently, all my experience with BBEdit has been on Mac.
Within the past week, I have been FTPing into 2 different Windows
servers. In both cases, the FTP Browser window seems to "time out"
after some short period of time. The listing of files goes from the
normal view, to a view with:
blank icon, date, time, <DIR>, size, filename
If any item on the list is clicked, an error is produced (22711). The
connect button still displays "Disconnect". Clicking it and then
clicking Connect restores the session.
What is happening here?
