relevant section here is 'Writing Replacement Patterns,' pages
178-181.

I apologize for the delay in getting back with you, but I've
been a bit busy here.
Anyway, thanks for the grep tip. It works perfectly. The only
thing that I had to do was escape the three ampersands in the
replacement string, as otherwise, I get undesirable results.
