Wouldn't it be weird to look to hide the Currently Open Documents when the 
files panel would already be hidden :-)? The sidebar (files panel) is 
active, but the following two options are disabled:

1. Hide Currently Open Documents
2. Hide Worksheet & Scratchpad (I don't have a worksheet or scratchpad so 
this makes sense)
