I hope we don't have to have this fight again. There must have been a couple of hundred messages on this list arguing (in some cases whinging) over it. Everybody said what they needed to say a year(?) ago. Bare Bones (I do NOT speak for them) makes changes to BBEdit for reasons they believe good and sufficient. BBEdit follows a considered plan of what Bare Bones thinks the application should be. A disaster might have brought the modal Find dialog back; there has been no disaster. The dialog is not hidden; the code for it no longer exists. It is not coming back. The matter is not subject to a vote. If a tool you use has a feature you need, and another does not, you are on the right track: Don't switch to the tool that won't do what you need.
