'normalize line endings'? i thought SOP was "try a bunch of encodings only to find that none of them work. then try to copy and paste the upside-down question marks into the search and replace dialog box only to find that they paste in as a line return or nothing. beat head on wall. view source in a browser and then copy and paste the source into a new document."
