In the lower left corner of the Disk Browser window, there is a file filter control (the magnifying glass stylized icon). If you select "Everything", all the dot hidden items will be included in the file and folder sidebar list. That selection will be remembered as a preference that is used for all future new Disk Browser windows until such time as you change that file filter setting. (Ref.
