Not sure/understand...hmm... what I sent was simply lsmod > lsmod.txt and
pasted into the browser.
It was the laptop in quistion, running OpenSuse 10.2 with kernel
2.6.18.2-34-default

"Nkoli" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> was kindly giving me some details as I am not that
familiar with OpenSuse.
He told me where to find the kernel and load it. But that crashed the computer
as every upgrades in
fedora does.

But the OpenSuse 10.2 with kernel 2.6.18.2-34-default works, so I downloaded
the kernel sources,
- make clone-config
  make
  make modules_install
  make install

Which should give me an exact copy of my environment, and settings, in order to
compare.
( it install initrd, the added kernel in grub, etc. )

As it still crash..

Pasting in a section as what I have reported at fedora-test-list recently:
( I posted the first fedora attempts Sept 04, and god knows how many installs I
have tested...worked
constantly ever since, except too few hours of sleep ;)

Now, after I did send you the lsmod - I rebooted and did run the cloned and
compiled kernel,
and have typed what I am able to read from screeen:

( this should confirm that libata and scsi_mod isn't missing )

So, there are some changes done in recent kernels, that doesn't go along with
my hardware.
( and as I can't get up some media or mount to my disks, I don't know how to
debug into the kernel
drivers )

//ARNE

! Following is manually retyped as what is shown on screen, OpenSuse 10.2,
! running 2.6.22.5-282-default ( cloned from working system
2.6.18.2-34-default )
! It starts up identical after grub selection as far as able to see ( escape
splash-screen)
! but the top lines scrolled out of screen..so I could not type it ...
! As the shell don't have lsmod, did cat/proc/modules instead.
