Dear Steven, thank you so much for writing/posting this bittersweet piece on the peace march. I was filled with feelings of sorrow, horror and a feeling of overwhelm. This also has special significance for me since I live only 14 miles from the closest nuclear facility to NYC.
The older I get, the more I realize that ritual seems a good solution to some of the overwhelming political problems around us. I do not have the nerve or love of confrontation as Starhawk does nor do I have the mentality required to work within the legal system politically. Ritual, witnessing, caring for the earth and for our brothers and sisters seems like the more viable path for me. Thank you so much for your good work, and for sharing it with us! I hope to connect with the peace marchers when they get to NY.
