Hi allen -life here in summer, muggy, delaware,my solution is to plant
summer squash and curcubits 2or3 times and in different places. i've never
tried it, but heard that a baking soda spray works. also heard that hugh
courtney uses milk and honey for the powdery mildew problem. i've not tried
that yet either. i do know that succesion planting works well here. you
might try using azomite rock dust on your land or in your compost as well.
some other questions i have for anyone..how do you determine where to bury
preps, when should 504 be buried. how much water do you use in stirring 5oo
and501 repectively. i've read 4-5 gallons per acre and 2-3 gallons. does it
matter? we just did a sequential spray here, getting up at 4 am to do 508
and 501 was refreshing. .. one more thing, Are there any inventive
genius's out there that can make a small gallon sprayer be able to do a fine
mist as required by 501? It needs to be cheap as well so everyone can use
it. it would be great to just be able to buy a new tip or wand to go on
existing inexpensive sprayers . my backpack sprayer is downright painful
for me to use, which takes much of the joy out of greeting the sun with 501.
and response appreciated :)sharon.
