I was wondering if seedballs would work in Merla's situation also.
And, on sloping terrain, hard to access with weeding equipment
and/or manpower, what about establishing bulbs such as daylilies.
I know the row-run daylilies are (field grown) smaller rootlets, and
not as desirable to the market, and so cheaper to get.
Daylilies are usually pretty tough plants, can help erosion problems
on sloping ground, take weather extremes well, and may stand up
to some of the overspray of the chemical-prone neighbors. (Since
it's a strap not a leaf.) And edible as well.
