Hi Group Memebers.
I have been following this thread of Choosing the right training institute
for .NET Training message.
I agree to a certain extent that the institutes are conning students in the
name of training., But i wanted to share my opinion i.e. How you guys u
plan to get training from freelance trainers\consultants who not only have
the training skills but the expertise on that technology becuase they hav
been working on it also.
All i am tryin to say is , For training consider a person who Works
fulltime as a s\w person on that technology and parttime provides training
on the same, This guy can also customize the training to your needs ,
rather than following a 25K course that does programing in a Notepad. So if
you are 2/3 or more of a group you can rather talk to such a free lance
trainer,
Ofcourse how do you validate him, here is a check list i suggest
1. Look up his profile (Resume)
2. Check up References
3. See the dept of skills he can provide
4. Flexibiity in customizing the Course structure for you.
5. Most importantly Cost
Ofcourse this is just my view.
Warm Regards
JhonnyBravo

|Pesonally, most of the training
institutes are cheating |
|students by getting lot of
money. Better brand name means more |
|money, nothing else. My sister
went to one of the most reputed |
|training institutes for .Net
training for Rs 25,000 for a 4 |
|months .Net course.
Surprisingly, they didn't have VS.Net and |
|were teaching C# console
applications using notepad for all |
|these 4 months.
|
|
|
|And, another experience for me
from the MOST REPUTED TRAINING |
|institute in India was, after a
2 month internet course, my |
|wife eneded up removing my name
from her Yahoo messenger, |
|because they told her that she
can have only one member in the |
|messenger at a time (it was a
basic internet course!!). |
|
|
|And because of this bad
experience, when I came back to India |
|after my onsite assignemnt, I
started a free .Net training |
|program in Bangalore for poor
students which was running fine |
|for around 1.5 yrs. (I had to
stop this when I had to again |
|take up an onsite assignment.
Now I have started a website for |
|free online .Net training &
help) |
|
|
|My sincere opinion is, do not go
to any institute for training.|
|There are 100s of sites and
online material available. If you |
|have a computer, you can learn
yourself. |
|Or, with the money you plan to
spend for training, buy a |
|computer!
|
|
|
|
|
|There are several User groups
where you can meet people and |
|share your issues.
