              Hi,

The VB & VB.NET Major differences are

1. The
              Development environment

2. The syntax of the language and
              object models of the classes

3. The run-time behavior of
              the compiled components

              4. Performance w.r.t VB.NET is better as the code is
              ultimately compiled to native code
5. Since VB.NET is
CLR-compliant, there are additional built-in functionalities
available through the FrameWork Class libraries
6. VB is more
suited for the windows as it needs the VB Runtime and VB.NET the
              .NET Runtime

              Hope this clears...

              Thanks,
              Varad.
