Now it's easy to say use XML over http , which is text based and there's no issue but there's need for a standard format for communication for both communicating network ends to be insync . I think Standardization is the buzzword . So , if you have a look at Soap tags , it has predefined regions like - Body , Header , envelope etc. meant for separate set of information to be utilized at other end .
