hi , I have been looking at employing different object types in remoting for
a windows application & having couple of doubts on it. Here are the details,
I implement Singleton model (MarshalbyRef - TCP- Binary formatter) & assume i
have a remote object class called "Users" which has 2 properties named
1. username
2. password
has 2 methods
1. Login - method called to validate a user login after setting the 2
properties . Returns true if success.
2. ClearProperties - clears the 2 properties (This is required since while
multiple-users acccess i need to clear the properties since property values are
maintained for this class due to singleton model) Sample sequence code is
below,   Users objUser= New objUser;
objUser.ClearProperties();
objUser.username="user";
objUser.password="pass";
if (objUser.Login())
{
//Rest of the logic
} Now my question is when multiple users access (try to login) how will the
singleton object behave. Is is single threaded or multithreaded? Is there a
possibility that multiple users can gain access to a user object & one has
cleared properties while other is in the process of login method. Next is do u
think this model of setting properties to the user object is advisable since i
feel each property setting results in a call to the server. Also if i convert
this login method as login(username,password) , should i go for singleton or
single call model. Also need to know how do i perform remote class debugging
if iam setting the remote server as local to my machine. Please think about
these & let me know the right answers Thanks,
Pavan
