Practically its not possible to show progress bar as u dont know how much time it will take to complete that sp. As well as u wont get continuous update that how mcuh that process has been finished. So for only visual interface u can do one thing . Just put one .gif image which shows some loading kind of thing . Make it invisible initially then at butten press even or somethign like that fire javascript which makes it visible.. see u have to do this thing only by javascript becuase other wise that image will be visible when preocess finished which is useless... And ya u have to make that image invisble from serverside after execution statement of that SP. I hope this will surely work..
