Greetings all, I would like to gage the interest in a "stay with a local" program for the upcoming Mountain.rb (http://mountainrb.com/) conference in Boulder. One of the main themes for the conference is "community" and I can't think of a better way to build community than to open your home to a stranger.
The program would consist of locals (probably in Boulder but if some Denver folks want to participate that would be great as well) opening up their spare rooms to people traveling to Boulder for the conference. If Denver folks do volunteer, we'll have to figure how the "out of towners" are going to easily get to Boulder so any ideas around that would be welcome as well. It would be very similar to the program that they did for RailsConf2010 ( http://bmoreonrails.org/stay-with-a-local/). If there is enough interest (because without spare rooms there isn't a program), I will work on setting up a section of the mountainrb.com site to handle registration for out of town guests, reusing the code that they used for RailsConf2010 (http://github.com/jtrupiano/stay_with_a_local). Thanks! Mike -- Mike Gehard Pivotal Labs Boulder
