Hi folks,

When you meet, please don't forget that although I am a UK based recruiter,
I have a UK client company that has a development office in Boulder & I am
still looking for jr. & mid level Rails Developers on their behalf.

- This company has recently won a prestigious award & has been recognised as
a leading technology company in its field - one of the most exciting
start-ups across their respective industry sector!
- These are opportunities for developers to join a company developing
solutions for software testing. The roles themselves offer exposure to
working with customers on a worldwide basis - developing a test management
tool using Ruby, & implementing the automated SW testing!
- This solution is utilized across multiple industry sectors - the scope for
development & sales is huge.

I know Rails developers are in high demand, but from a local perspective I
understand that Boulder is a tech rich locale & you'll have a wealth of Ruby
Developers out there!?
Also, being akin to entry to mid level roles, these will hopefully be of
interest to recent grads, who I am sure will be really interested in any new
opportunities out there...
Maybe you'll have some who attend the meeting, or some of you will
personally know of someone & can recommend them / refer them to me - help
them secure an interesting & stable career position!

These roles would also suit someone with a couple of years development
experience (or equivalent in internship.)
If the person has Java & some experience in a test environment that would
also be a plus.

All resumes need to come to me at mar...@harrimanrecruitment.co.uk
Salaries are negotiable depending upon experience, & the company may
consider contract roles, though would prefer people in on a staff basis
(they want to develop people as the company grows!)

Please kindly help, & spread the word that I am looking.

Many thanks & warm regards from the UK,
Marcus.

Subject: [Boulder Ruby Group] BRG - September Meeting - Sep 11

The September meeting will be a week earlier due to Rocky Mountain Ruby,
http://rockymtnruby.com on Tuesday the 11th. We've moved the meeting to
start touch earlier at 6:30pm as we're packing in three talks and don't want
to run too late. At 6:30 we'll have food, drink and networking. Come down
and say hi to your fellow rubyists. Our first speaker, Joshua Timberman, is
bringing some home brew for us to try.

At 7pm we'll start the talks so please be here before then. First off will
be Joshua Timberman speaking about Isolated Project Testing with Test
Kitchen. Test Kitchen is a new RubyGem from Opscode that allows you to
describe how you'd like to run your project's Unit and Integration tests in
an isolated clean-room environment. It was designed to test Opscode's Chef
cookbooks, Ruby and Erlang projects.

Second, John Unruh will talk about Concurrency. It's been said that
concurrency, either with threads or with evented code is "the next great
thing". Concurrency is also a source of concern about new and difficult
classes of errors. In this talk, we will examine the major issues in
concurrent software execution and how to handle them. Some common errors
will be illustrated with real life examples of programming errors and their
resolution.

Finally, Sean McKibben will cover concurrent Ruby using the actor pattern
with Celluloid. He'll expand on what John's talked about with how to do
this with Celluloid. Instead of calculating primes, Sean will be basing his
examples around the concept of screen actors saying their lines-using the
`say` system command as the unit of work.

Meeting details are posted here:

Should be a great meeting so I hope to see you all next Tuesday.
Don't forget that Rocky Mountain Ruby is happening the following week.
Don't miss out on an awesome local conference.

Cheers,
Marty
