Hey everyone,
At least 40 people have RSVPed yes to my intro-to-Ruby workshop this Saturday
at 9 a.m. Help -- I need some more teachers assistants! Advanced experience
not required.
This 3-hour curriculum I wrote is interactive from the beginning. It's Ruby
1.8.6 compatible, so no need to install RVM. No gems or Rails either.
Basically it's a series of exercises copying/modifying existing source code to
do something slightly different. Reading in CSV, writing out HTML. Using real
data from last August's USA Pro Challenge bicycle race. Check out my slides
and example code below.
This workshop is partly to promote the class I'm teaching, but most people
attending just want to dip their toe in. Please reach out and help show how
usable Ruby is and how awesome the Ruby community is.
