March is here and it's time for our next monthly meeting on Tuesday,
March 19th, at Pivotal Labs (directions below). We’ll be starting off
with a beginner’s track session at 6pm. This session will be an
introduction to a Ruby style guide. Marty Haught will go through the
Github Ruby Style Guide with the group discussing what it is and why
you should care.

Food and drink will be generously provided by Pivotal Labs at 6:30 and
we’ll have a break for networking and socializing.

Shortly after 7pm, Tyler Knappe will give the first talk, an overview
of Grape, a REST-like API micro-framework for Ruby.

Following that Ben Orenstein, while visiting us from Boston, will run
a live coding session. Ben believes that the best way for programmers
to learn is to watch each other work. This talk leaves slides behind
and focuses instead on the greater information density achieved
through live coding. We’ll discuss the strengths and weaknesses of
living code, and refactor it right before your eyes. As we do so,
we’ll “coincidentally” bump into lots of meaty topics. Audience
participation is strongly encouraged, as is stealing the speaker’s vim
tricks for your own use.

Should be a fun and lively meeting so I hope to see you all there.
