Well, if someone has a python2.4 installation, it would probably be a
good idea to check that I didn't break any of that first.  Or we can
just merge and listen for wailings and gnashings of teeth ;).


I'd like to clear up the remaining outstanding bugs too.  All of them
are proposed extensions or interface alterations.  I don't think all
of them are good ideas, but I don't think I understand the motivation
for some of them either, and I don't want to go closing legitimate
bugs just because I don't understand them.  Chris, since you're the
boss, and Aaron, since you created most of the bugs, if want them
resolved, could you comment them with a note saying so, and maybe a
suggested implementation (at least for the filesystem and user
interfaces...), or if you think they are no longer relavant, just
close them.
