Nope, I just don't have many Darcs installations around to play with.
It works with:
  2.4.3 (release)  (from Gianluca's email)
  2.3.1 (release)
  2.0.2 (release)
  
For some reason, your darcs thinks .be/version is boring.  We'll have
to find a way to tell it otherwise.  Arch has a similar problem, see
  libbe.storage.vcs.arch.Arch._adjust_naming_conventions()
for details.
