Or you can take advantage of an annoying bug we work around.. Just remove
the "SWCursor" or "HWCursor" line from /etc/X11/Xorg.conf and it'll
magically never appear unless you do a 'ctrl-alt-f1' -> 'ctrl-alt-f7' then
it randomly re-appears..
