I didn't find in the files for am335x-bone* any reference to the spi1, only for the spi0. The file am33xx.dtsi does reference but I would like to understand why in the dts files that describes the beaglebone board there is no reference to spi1.
My guess: considering the pins are multiplexed, they decided to reference other parts of hardware (ex. mmc) instead of the second SPI1.
