I use the TI kernel because the PRU can be loaded using remoteproc and soon will have the virtio from user space.
When running the following: git clone https://github.com/RobertCNelson/ti-linux-kernel-dev/ cd ti-linux-kernel-dev/ git checkout origin/ti-linux-3.14.y -b tmp ./build_kernel.sh (This should finish with the menuconfig just exit) after you exit do a control-c, this will stop the compile process. The goal is for Roberts scripts to run but not compile. I did not have time to check if there is a way to run them without the compile step. The path is long and sometimes does not work pasting them in the menuconfig.
