I started playing (again) with my old BeagleBoard Rev C4. The problem that
I had were installing Debian Jessie and a new
kernel... Not an easy task at first. I tried many ways to make my board
boot but I always had the problem that the kernel
did not detect the /dev/mmcblk0p2... Googling some time I found a site
https://linuxlink.timesys.com/, I opted for the free
registration and go to the Community boards and select Beagleboard, I
followed the instructions in their site for booting
the board. It did not work! I downloaded the kernel for the Beagleboard-XM,
Wow it booted!
I then changed the rootfs for the debian one, theirs was a busybox. My
board is working faster than never did before.

The other thing that bothers me is the popping noise at the end of
streaming sound... If you dont need to save all the
energy of the board try this:

echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/soc-audio/TWL4030/pmdown_time

The original value was 5000.

Enjoying playing with my Beagleboard again!

Richard
