I'm using a clone of the bb.overlay repo and just copied my DTS into the 
src/arm directory and did a make from the top.

Ran the dtc-overlay.sh script first to get the patched dtc compiler 
installed into /usr/local/bin

~:91> which dtc 
/usr/local/bin/dtc 
~:92> dtc -v 
Version: DTC 1.4.1-g1e75ebc9
