Sorry, I guess I didn't quite understand what and how to present it. In the end, I worked around it. I downloaded Picard, tagged the files without issue and then imported them with beets. Beets is funny at times it wants to swap tracks, make 3 8 and 8 3, etc.
I never get why, so that's what I was addressing.
