gAIM is a Gnome port of AOL Instant Messenger.  There are Perl modules for
accessing Gnome classes, as well as a module for handling AOL-TOC,
although I think the TOC protocol has been deprecated by AOL, so I'm not
sure exactly what can be done with Perl and gAIM.
