Is there a way that doesn't involve installing the oracle client?
Can I use ODBC?
If so, can anyone give me pointers as to where to find the drivers?
The reason I'm avoiding the client is because I have no cdrom in the machine,
and no X installed (Redhat is so big these days I had no room for it). The
machine is replacing a DOS machine, so if I suddenly say we need 4G disks
it will make Linux seem a little bloated in comparison. In case you wondered,
the dos machine never used to connect - it did a download, but we're trying to
improve that!
