I would suggest few things: 1. Maximum participation at perlmonks.org and beginners@perl.org (Not just asking questions but monitoring these forums to answer as much as you can) 2. Using Perl, try to automate every computer related tasks which you do frequently at your work place or may be at home 3 Read the book "Intermediate Perl", extension to the book - 'Learning Perl' 4. Try to submit your own module to CPAN.
