Neither Perl 5 nor perl 5 are going away, and Perl 6 is a completely different language. Furthermore, the current Perl 6 implementations are incomplete (= don't implement the entire Perl 6 spec), and may not perform very well or have various bugs. I wouldn't want to discourage you from learning Perl 6, because it's an interesting language with many nifty features, but learning Perl 5 now will still prove useful for a very long term.
