I am a very new beginner and perl is my first programming language which I learnt as a hobby. I started on perl because many people says that perl is easier to learn than other languages such as c or c++.
In deciding which languages to choose, of which what I actually wanted, was to learn a language that would allow me to do things I wanted to do, and because I do not know which language to choose at that time, I therefore landed myself in perl. I've to thank you John for your comparison comments bt perl and c, c++ for it allows me to see a better picture. However, I'm not too sure if opinions marked as off-topics are allowed in this emailing group.
