volks should never confuse the
'vi' IDE
with the interfaces into the classic unix tool set,
and the Only True Shell....
The problem is that we will need to help him over the
fear of unix - and that it is perfectly ok to bring
his experience with using perl in a dos environment
over to working on a unix box - without having to
beat himself SILLY trying to pick up the ways of
the elder gods of yore.....
I can appreciate that trying to get dwarvish and
elvish into the Unicode will help some of the traditional
unix folks cope with the transition.... but I really
do not advocate that people who 'get it' in perl
need to figure out how to beat metal to make large
structures .....
