I am getting error

Missing braces on \N{} at ./a.pl line 4, near "\Developer\view_local\l"
Execution of ./a.pl aborted due to compilation errors.
what could be the reason ?

This will do what you ask for:
$np = "NewProcess";
Or were you hoping that we'd write everything for you?
So -- what code have you tried so far? What *exactly* after the text
NewProcess are you trying to capture? Here's that part:
NewProcess_date_22-oct-2004.log
You want everything from the first '_' to the last 'g' ?
Please be precise.
