In the longer versio you will find several posts a year on practicaly every single Perl board where members ask for Perl certification and a whole discussion starts on the benefits posibilities and inposibilities to do so, in the end the consensus usualy being that there is no real way to test peoples perl skill without relating it to a specific type of problem. There are some Perl trainings which are quite highly valued in the Perl community but other then that there is not a single organization handing out papers that state Mr./Mrs. so and so know Perl.
