Yo! Just started installation of Belenix on my office desktop. I can't sleep. in VirtualBox some restrictions which I faced made me to do full installation.
I decided to remove OpenSolaris 2008/11 from my office desktop and just started Belenix installation. KDE making it easier to use OpenSolaris kernel via Belenix. I have used Linux so it doesnt look difficult Now I got more room to use Belenix in production environment. Some quick access thing I liked in Belenix which made my mind to install in office desktop as follows : -KDE menu -easy to access LAN browser -Easy to configure samba - No tricks to do to make SSH work. I always had hard time to enable these stuff in Solaris. -Quick boot time [ in Live CD mode ] compare to 2008.11 OpenSolaris -Installation time is less as well. [ 20 mins approx which is normal. Good to finish Pizza in 20 mins meanwhile..bahhaha!!!] I will post some more interesting features which I may find soon. Belenix reminding my 1st Linux distro i.e. OpenSuSe which I installed on my 1st ever personal pc [ i.e. ThinkPad ] 3 years back. Like Belenix, I was excited to explore OpenSuSe that time as a linux newbie. Hope to get hands soon on Belenix. Cheer's, Amey.
