I have wondered if someone could take the Linux sources, adapt them to solaris drivers, and host the binaries (or at least the sources) independently somewhere. Desperate users might then build from source themselves, and perhaps even simply push everything into torrent based downloads ! Really, these licensing issues are a Chanakya style technique (Bhed - infighting and internal disagreement) of ensuring that FOSS does not go ahead. This is almost like "exactly upto one God" vs "Not more than one God" arguments that I'd read in Arthur Clarke's 3001 Space Odyssey. -- Sriram
