I agree with Joe and Ken.

Ubuntu would be tough to adjust to to a user who has been used to
Windows. He has been pampered with a very large variety of software,
and lives in an ecosystem where software is not got from repositories
but downloaded from a site, followed by a Next>next installer.

On the face of it, the software repository model is far easier to
use/install, and quicker too for the end user. The only reason it
isn't seen as such by users, is because a majority of users have
gotten used to the Windows ecosystem "bugs", and regard them as
"features" and expect it from competitors as well.

That said, the amount of software in *nix is still catching up with
Windows, and the same is true about the *quality* of software (think
Photoshop)

To conclude, the article showed that windows user find it hard to
adjust to linux, which is important information when targeting Windows
users. It was however not an objective analysis of operating system
features as such.
