That link was useful to me in my reseach.

Firstly, I now know that the Intel 915 GAV board does not have a
Broadcom card, it has an Intel 82562EZ based card.

Another site has similar information.
According to this post,
http://www.bolthole.com/solaris/HCL/devices.php, Solaris itself may
have support for your ethernet card. Could you follow the instructions
on this page ?

Search for "82562EZ" and you'll find.

network Intel 82562EZ (Pro 10/100 VE)   0x8086  0x1050  Requires addition
to /etc/drivers_aliases of: "iprb "pci8086,1050"
