All: Life at work continues to be really exciting and awesome. I therefore decided to get up a bit early and get working on the stuff needed for Belenix.next.
Notes: illumos continues to build cleanly I've rebuilt rpm 5.2.1 and installed it into the regular prefix rather than to an alternate root. smart somehow installed for me without the ignoreprefix command line flag I've concluded that we can start off with setting up an rpm virtual package for the core dependencies (like /bin/sh) as is documented in a number of places. My present focus is on getting rpm and smart to work together. I think I'll work with Kunal over IM on that bit (what better way to start the new year than on Belenix :) I feel that once we put rpm 5.3.6 to use (Moinak's already done this), and rebase on to the latest GCC (again, Moinak's already done this), we can start to work on various aspects of Belenix.next. My personal aim would be to investigate the illumos build and to find out at which points packages are generated, and then modify that bit to generate rpms. -- Sriram ================== Belenix: www.belenix.org _______________________________________________ belenix-discuss mailing list http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/belenix-discuss http://groups.google.com/group/belenix-discuss
