Hmm.... not sure how developers like to work as here @work we have an SVN repo and portal for most things, but since I use 2 instances of Xwiki at home for my personal projects I thought it might be useful to have somewhere where one could - not only have a nice site but also be able to upload documents and other types of file and colaborate etc.... But as you said it might be overkill since you guys have already established a means of working over the years.
