Hi, I've scratched a particular itch and written a Firefox extension called "Bangla Convert" that converts the esoteric character encodings used at Prothom Alo (prothom-alo.net) and Ajker Kagoj (ajkerkagoj.com) web sites to Unicode. Support for other newspapers is coming soon. The extension can be downloaded from: http://banglaconvert.bd.net . License is GPL.
