(At the risk of being politically incorrect,) I think Ekushey is already much overused.

Deepayan, we (Bangladeshi) are speaking Bangla because of this Ekushey. There is nothing to say "overused" we can use this word as much as we like and anyone is free to use that.

What do you think? Any comments/suggestions?

Not that I'm unhappy with it myself, but why the change from Gnome? In the longer run, I think it would be appropriate for us to have separate live CD releases for both Gnome and KDE (both are mature enough, IMO).

I agree with you Deepayan. If you call this a Bangla LiveCD 2.0 then this version should be just an update of 1.0 with the content intact and it should be just an update, If you carry the same name IMHO

This KDE version should have a different name indeed. What about Boishakhi Linux 1.0 ?

Somewhat unrelated, but I never got any feedback about a font I released a while back:

I have some comments regarding all FBF fonts (including yours). Please download Likhan from: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ekushey/TTF_LikhanNormal.zip?download and check the font well. This one is much better then your release (also updated with Unicode 4.1.0 codepoints).

All of your fonts has kerning problem. I don't know if it's a problem of FontForge. Last time I kerned MuktiNarrow and you guys didn't accept my release saying you are working on that. But after 1 year there is no new release. I've downloaded all the new fonts from http://www.stat.wisc.edu/~deepayan/Bengali/WebPage/Font/ and found the same kerning problem. They are also not good for UI font.

In the mean time I released Sagar under GPL and decided to use that for upcoming Boishakhi Linux LiveCD.
