I stumbled upon this: http://www.amd.com/us/products/workstation/graphics/firepro-remote- graphics/S10000/Pages/S10000.aspx#2
1.5 Tflop double precision card. It quotes it has ECC, yet past few weeks AMD started announcing a lot of things. Is it because they're nearly bankrupt (chapter 11) within a few months, or did they really produce an entire new GPU line? As just putting 2 gpu's from the 7900 series onto a card isn't gonna work easily with ECC, i understood from hardware engineers that this requires total redesign of a chip, as you default would lose 90% performance from the RAM otherwise. Maybe the CRC that DDR5 has has been with some creative engineering renamed to ECC? Anyone on this? As the AMD forums this question was raised as well yet no answers from AMD engineers there... _______________________________________________ Beowulf mailing list, [email protected] sponsored by Penguin Computing To change your subscription (digest mode or unsubscribe) visit http://www.beowulf.org/mailman/listinfo/beowulf
