Dear all,
I agree. I quite like email lists as you can search them and, depending
how you set up your email account (POP/IMAP) you still got access to it
years later. That is not always the case with Slack for example. So for
me they quite often serve as a local archive, which cannot easily
manipulated which seems to be a 'thing' now.
Another reason why I find email lists better is: most of the time people
are using clear names, which is not always the case in Slack for
example. Sometimes for good reasons.
An yes, I might be a fellow dinosaur as well!
My main problem these days is: way too much on my desk with not enough
time to get things done. So to kick off a discussion here: am I the only
one who is completely stretched beyond what is healthy, or do it wrong?
At least one positive thing of being a dinosaur is: retirement is on the
horizon!
All the best from a grey London

Me, too, and it makes me sad. :( This mailing list has been super
helpful to me over the years, and it's sad to see that no one really
comments or asks questions here anymore. It seems all the youngsters
prefer Reddit, Slack, etc. - anything but e-mail - to communicate these
days. I still prefer mailing lists, but I'm slowly coming to the
realization that might make me a dinosaur. Never thought I'd see that day.
I really miss the small, tight-knit community that used to be here.
