Vicky, thank you very much. I think we're coming from the same boat. I too, bought a puppy from a newspaper -- years and years and years ago .. As a matter of fact, the breeder sold me on the fact that they didn't need AKC papers--I too likely would've signed anything to get what I wanted; I did see the mother at least -- but to this day I'll never know what sort of breeder she was ... BYB or miller. I remember, as a kid, going with my mom to the pet stores; and her going thru dogs. She was terrible; I was terrified I'd end up like her -- owning a dog for a year or less, and giving up when things got rough. I guess I am as passionate as I am, because I know what it's like to be the PPO -- just wanting a cude cuddly puppy to love. Education is great; but it also changes us forever!
