This is my understanding of the Swiss system, and I am open to correction!

Since 1st January 1992 : HD A = Clear, HD B = Transitional, HD C = Mild, HD
D & E = Severe and not permitted for breeding.

ED 0 = Free (Clear), ED 1 = Light, ED 2 & 3 = Severe and not permitted for
breeding.

I think that the FCI system if it is applied by more countries will be a
very useful guideline for us to work with.

The system used in Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany (and maybe
others) where a breeding value for each dog is assessed and used to work out
whether potentially a dog will be likely to be beneficial to the breed is, I
believe, very useful. It seems that the countries where the Breed Club has
most control over what happens to their breed are being more effective in
achieving their objectives.
