My sense is that the term can only be applied to, MAYBE (3) kennels in the US ...and those are the folks involved in lots of litters/year. It's those bazillion litters to pick from, stud fee puppies, and puppies back on full reg bitches...and close line breeding...that creates "a bloodline" (ie: will breed true), not the 1-2 litters/year breeding program.
